CONSIGNOR BASICS

 

  • Earn 60% on your sold items, less a $15 Consignor Participation Fee (if you choose to donate all unsold items, we will lower your consignor fee to just $5)!

DROP OFF & PICK UP

DROP OFF DAY: Wed  from 2pm- 8pm.

Drop off day:

  1. Bring your items tagged, prepped (see info below), and sorted by type & size.
  2. Bring your signed Consignor Agreement, Car Seat Checklist, and Crib Waiver (if applicable).
  3. Drive around to the back of the church to the sale entrance.
  4. Check in when you arrive. You will bring your items in for inspection then you'll place all items where they belong on the sales floor, so please plan to allow 30-90 minutes for this process depending on how many items you are selling.
  5. Drop off will close promptly at the posted times.
  6. If you are consigning more than 300 items, please email us for special drop-off arrangements.

CONSIGNOR PICK UP:  Sun., Mar 3
8pm-9pm

IF WE'RE DONE SOONER -You will be notified that night via Facebook or by phone if pick up can begin sooner than 8pm. Otherwise, please do not arrive prior to 8pm.

Items not picked up by 9pm will be donated, no exceptions!

PRESALE HOURS

Team Leaders, Team Members, and Consignors get to shop early!

CONSIGNING WITH JBF VACAVILLE

  • We recommend you consign 100 items or more to earn more! 
  • $15 Consignor participation fee (deducted from your consignor check after the sale) applies to consignors picking up any unsold items from one item on up.
  • $5 Consignor participation fee (deducted from your consignor check after the sale) applies to consignors donating all unsold items.
  • If over FIVE items are found to not be within our acceptable standard, a $0.25 per item fee will apply.

Acceptable Items

ALL items need to be either NEW or in good/excellent used condition.  All items need to be complete (all pieces), and in full working order.  Battery operated items must include batteries.  Items with stains, tears, holes, odors, or above average wear marks will not be accepted.

 

ACCEPTED AT ALL SALES:
Toys, Books, Games, DVDs, baby equipment, safety items, feeding/bathing/diapering items, children's room decor, children's bedding, art/craft supplies.  Any children or maternity item that could be used year-around.


ACCEPTED AT SPRING SALE:
Light-weight spring/summer clothing for NB-teens and maternity.
Summer/spring shoes - sandals, tennis shoes
Water toys, swim suits, life jackets
--CORE WINTER ITEMS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED (snow gear, holiday wear, heavy jackets)

ACCEPTED AT FALL SALE:
Warmer fall/winter clothing for NB-teens and maternity.
Fall/winter shoes - tennis shoes, boots, snow gear
Snow toys, snow jackets, sleds, holiday wear (halloween costumes, christmas outfits), holiday decor.
--CORE SUMMER ITEMS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED (swim suits, water shoes, water toys, tank tops)

Books, Games, DVDs, Arts & Crafts

Books, book sets, board games, puzzles, video games, video game systems, scrapbook, arts & crafts sets are great items for resale.  No adult books please. Games and puzzles must have all pieces.  Check items to ensure they are in great condition.
Package:  Use clear, self-seal bags or clear cling wrap (saran wrap) to hold multiple items together; Tie sets of books together with ribbon/string. Be sure that parts/games to video game systems (such as Vtech) cannot be separated or switched out at the sale. 
Tag:  When tagging books, please attach your tag to the book with painters tape that can be removed without damaging the item. Tape tag to the outside cover.

Clothes

We sell children's clothing Newborn through size 16, plus juniors and maternity.

Be picky! Look at your clothing items as if you were going to purchase them. No stained or damaged items will be accepted.  Please be sure your clothing items follow the acceptable guidelines for the given season.

Please freshly clean your clothing items. The newer the item looks (and the better it smells), the better it will sell.

Package & Hang:
Hangers
- Please hang clothes so the hanger hook points to the left (like a question mark ?).  Hang size 0-5 clothing on child-size hangers and sizes 6-20 and maternity clothing on adult-size hangers. 
Clothing Sets - Sets tend to sell better (under size 6) so match things up if you can. Safety pin or use a tagging gun to attach clothing sets securely with bottom garment hung on the backside of the shirt, so both pieces can be viewed without separating them.

Clothing on Hangers - Attach tag with a tagging gun or safety pin to the label of shirt or upper right front of pants. Insert the gun in a label or inside seam NOT through part of the clothing (to avoid making a hole or tear in the clothing). 
Non-Hanging Clothing - Please use tagging gun or safety pins to attach tags. Tape tag to bagged items Please tape bags closed - shoppers are able to inspect items at the registers before purchasing.

Furniture & Equipment

Exersaucers, swings, high chairs, changing tables, cribs (Manufactured AFTER June 28, 2011; please bring Crib Waiver for all cribs), strollers, bath seats, baby walkers, car seats & car seat accessories must be checked for safety recalls, must have all parts, and be in good condition. 

Package:  If item has multiple pieces use packaging tape, zip-ties, or string to keep items attached together. If wooden furniture has loose parts, use clear plastic wrap to secure item. All furniture and equipment must be assembled during the sale. Batteries must be included, if applicable. Please bring a Car Seat Checklist for all car seats, booster seats, and car seat base or infant carrier.
Tag:  Attach JBF tag directly to item with clear packaging tape or hole-punch JBF tag and tie it to item.

Home Decor

You may consign storage solutions (baskets, bin, shelving), decor (lamps, wall hangings, no antiques).
Package:  If selling multiple pieces together, be sure that all pieces are secured together.
Tag:  Secure the tag to the item to ensure that the tag does not fall off during the sale and so that item is not damaged when the tag is removed after purchase.

Infant Items

Nursing, feeding items, monitors, safety items, diapering & toileting items, rattles, and more. Please check for safety recalls on all items that you consign.

Diaper bags and infant carriers are another big seller -- Please zip-tie items to an adult-size hanger so they can hang on our racks during the sale.

Shoes

Make sure that shoes are clean, clean, clean! We will be VERY selective with shoes during Consignor Drop Off & Inspection. We accept infant to kids size 5.
Package: Fasten shoes together with zip ties. For infant shoes or small shoes without laces, you may put the shoes in a clear zip-lock bag. 
Tag: Punch a hole in the top of your tag and attach the tag to the shoes with the ribbon, string, or zip tie. For infant shoes in a clear zip-lock bag, put the tag inside the bag and tape the bag shut with clear packing tape.

Make sure your items are season appropriate!

Toys

Toys of all kinds are BIG SELLERS!  All toys must be checked for safety recalls before consigning.  Clean all toys and baby equipment thoroughly.  Please test to make sure that toys and equipment are working properly. Battery operated toys must include working batteries (these can be purchased inexpensively at local discount stores).  Toys and games MUST be complete when all pieces are not visible -- we don't want disapointed children and parents!
Package:  Bag all small parts belonging to toys/equipment in self-seal bags and tape the bag shut with clear packing tape. Fasten the bag securely to the item with ribbon, tape, or zip ties. Items must include ALL working parts.

Valet Tagging

Do you have a ton of great stuff and you wish you had the time to consign them? That's why we have Valet Tagging that will take "sale ready*" items, price and tag them!

As a valet consignor, you earn 50% of each sold item. All items must participate in our half-off sale and unsold items will be donated to our community partner, the Sacramento Food Bank.

With this program, you sort your items, provide hangers & batteries, and we do the rest!  Spots are limited, so register today!

Drop-off & Item Inspection

Having excellent quality items at our sale is what separates us from the rest!  Please help us by doing your part and reviewing the list of acceptable and unacceptable items.  

We appreciate those consignors who spend the extra time at home ensuring that their items are stain free and tagged correctly and want to reward them for their hard work!  If you have less than FIVE stained, damaged, or unacceptable items pulled at drop off or during the sale, you will be added to a list which allows you to skip inspection during drop off at the next sale. This saves you lots of time at Drop Off!   REMEMBER: Perfect Consignor status is earned each sale. Spend extra time inspecting items at home so that you earn perfect status for the next sale!

Starting Spring 2019, we will be scanning and tracking all "rejected" items.  Each consignor is allowed FIVE reject items before a fee will be assessed.  If over five items are found, the consignor will pay a $0.25 fee (deducted from the final consignor check) per rejected item.

CONSIGNOR FAQS

Q. Do consignors get to shop before the public?
A. Yes, consignors will shop early on a designated pre-sale day . You are given a consignor presale pass and a guest pass at check-in. You must have a presale pass to enter the pre-sale.

Q. Are children allowed at the presale?
A. No.  We love our kids too, but shopping is easier without having to chase a kiddo down the aisles.  Small infants who can be seated in a stroller or baby carrier while you shop are welcome to attend.

Q. Will I know what items have sold?
A. Yes you can see your sales realtime through your tagging account. However, tags that must be hand entered due to a bad barcode or printing quality issue do not appear on the online sales report, but are included in your check.

Q. If I consign my items, do I have to stay during the sale?
A. No. Consignors drop off their items and put them out on the selling floor during the designated drop-off times. Consignors that want to pick up unsold items must come back on the pick up day. Consignors that are donating unsold items mark DONATE on their tags and do not need to return to the sale.

Q. Is childcare available when I help at the sale as a Consignor Team Member?
A. No. Children are not allowed during your shift due to liablilty issues.

Q. I'm pregnant or have a medical condition. Is it OK for me to be a Team Member?
A. We have many shift opportunities that can be a "sit down" position or very light duty. If you are pregnant or have a medical condition, you will want to help when the workload is less. If you need special arrangements, please email us at michelejacklin@jbfsale.com with your request and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Please be sure that you have your doctor's approval, if needed.
